Linden, NJ |
After releasing a few singles and three albums the past three years, RainCrowd is temporarily taking a break from the studio and assuming family duties.
"We have a ton of unrecorded materials even from our early days and we have to think this through before we burn ourselves out as we're not getting any younger, you know", as per Chot Ulep, bass player and lead vocals who also writes most of the songs.
Both Chot Ulep and Dave Majam (rhythm guitarist) reside in New Jersey, while Nico Capistrano (lead guitarist) and Tonyo Valbuena (drummer) live in the Philippines. The issue of proximity has been in question for the past 20 years and the band's reluctance to address it creates a major setback in planning live performances, with many local promoters inquiring on the matter.
Asked whether there are planned projects in the near future, all members of the group ascertained, "it's just a matter of time".
As for radio airplays, their album, "XXI", released in 2022 topped the overall US College Radio Charts at number 119 (unweighted; 3/9/2022), supported by WLAS 102.9 Lasell University in Newton, MA, and KTSW 89.9 Texas State University in San Marcos, TX.
