More than a year after indie rock band, RainCrowd's break from releasing material, the group is contemplating on finally moving forward, not with singles, but with a handful of albums with dozens of tunes.
Asked why the long pause, Chot Ulep, who heads the group as bassist / lead vocalist, explains, "It's got more to do with who we are now, as individuals, with family responsibilities and "other" gigs."
The group is planning to record both new songs and much of the unreleased materials written in the last 30 years, with some of them rejected by major labels in Manila in the 90's.
"Virgin bought some of our songs back then but we managed to re-record and release a handful of them in 2020 with their permission. So, we're thinking, with self-publishing being the thing nowadays, we can actually just do everything by ourselves," Chot further adds.
With RainCrowd's current exposure to college radio, the group is hoping to get into commercial radio to reach more listeners in the indie rock space in the next few years.
As of today, no dates yet have been released as to when the next album will be out. So, stay tuned!
